CANDABA – The Commission on
Elections (Comelec) recently approved the application for accreditation of “Anak
ng Candaba” (ANC) movement” as a local party.
Anak ng Candaba is currently
being chaired by Patrick Gerald fondly called as “Kuya Pat”, son of Mayor Jerry
Pelayo who has been the local chief executive of this town for nine straight
years.
Leny Manalo, chief of staff of
Mayor Pelayo stated that Comelec’s approval came late as their team already
filed their respective certificate of candidacies under the provincial
political party Kapanalig at Kambilan Ning Memalen Pampanga (Kambilan).
“Pina follow up namin lagi sa
Comelec pero hindi sila agad nagdesisyon. Kailan lamang namin natanggap yung
sulat na approved na as local party ang Anak ng Candaba,” Manalo told Sun Star
Pampanga in an interview.
ANC is established to promote
countrywide developments focused on agriculture, tourism, livelihood and education.
It is currently spearheading
community based projects by providing livelihood training to organized groups
of women in various villages.
