Kapampangan skilled workers ready for competition - PMTC

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – The Provincial Manpower Training Center  (PMTC) yesterday claimed that Kapampangan trained skilled workers were ready for competition and competent enough both for local and foreign employment.

This came as the provincial government through PMTC continuously providing skills training program base on the current demands of the market.
Francis Maslog, officer-in-charge of PMTC divulged that since Governor Lilia Pineda assumed the office, there were about 1,628 individuals who already benefited from the skills enhancement and training program.

The provincial government partnered with the Technical Education and Skills Training Administration (Tesda) to further strengthen its capability in hosting trainings for the Kapampangans.

"For almost three years now, the present administration continuously gives free skills training to our cabalen who would like to improve their craft for higher possibility of employment,"Maslog noted.


The PMTC records show that among the recipients of the skills training, 266 are already employed, 755 are self-employed, 371  are referred to Public Employment Services Office to work abroad and 233 undergo on-the-job training.

“Gov. Pineda instructed us not only to give training but also to help them find a good job," Maslog pointed out.

Included in the package of trainings being administered  by PMTC were computer hardware servicing, consumer electronics, computer literacy, shielded metal arc welding, automotive servicing technology, electrical installation and maintenance, plumbing, Korean language proficiency training, furniture upholstery, heavy equipment operation, hair dressing, wellness massage, small engine servicing, and beauty care.
