CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – The Philippine Dermatological Society (PDS) has conducted a medical mission Sunday held at Ms. Earth Park in Barangay Mandasig, Candaba town.
The activity benefited hundreds
of residents suffering with skin problems.
They came from the barangays of Mandasig,
Pasig, Lanang, Pansinao and other neighboring communities.
PDS doctors provided free
consultation, medicines and educated the residents on various methods of
prevention involving skin diseases.
“Nagpapasalamat po kami dahil
dito sa aming bayan nila isinagawa ang medical missions. Malaking bagay po para
sa amin na malaman ang dahilan ng pagkakaroon namin ng sakit sa balat.
Namimigay din sila ng gamot para rito,” Mang Menti, a resident from Barangay
Lanang in Candaba.
It was learned that the medical
mission was part of the National Skin Disease Detection and
Prevention Week celebration
being observed in the country every second week of November.
This event is held pursuant to
Proclamation No. 110 issued on 8 October 2001.
It is designed to raise among
Filipinos the importance of skin care and early detection of skin diseases.
