The activity was graced by Governor
Lilia Pineda, Board Member Nestor “Bay” Tolentino and other officials along
with the hospital doctors and staffs.
Tolentino, in an interview stated
that the construction of the hospital extension building was funded by the
national government through the Department of Health (DOH).
He said that more than P9 million
has been spent by the national government to ensure the completion of the said
project.
The board member claimed that the
provincial government, meanwhile, shouldered the expenses on site development
including landscape and fence among others.
It can be noted that the province
and DOH had been working together to improve the health services for the
Kapampangans by constructing rural health units, birthing stations and hospital
extensions.
Earlier, some P30 million has
been allocated by the DOH for expansion, repair, renovation and equipping projects
of various health units in Angeles City, Apalit, Candaba, Macabebe, Masantol,
Mexico, City of San Fernando, Sta. Ana and
Sta. Rita
