CANDABA - An official from the Commission on
Elections (Comelec) yesterday led the proclamation of former Assistant
Secretary Rene Maglanque of the Department of Transportation and
Communication (DOTC) as the duly elected mayor of this town.
Hilda
Dizon-Dimaano, municipal election officer together with the members of
the board of canvasser led the confirmation of Maglanque and Vice Mayor
Normita Evangelista after verifying the election returns transmitted
from various precincts.
Maglanque
bested three other mayoralty candidates including Reynaldo Sagum, Patrick Gerard Pelayo and Danilo Baylon.
He
has garnered some 14, 730 votes with a difference of less than 100
votes to his closest rival Sagum while his running mate Evangelista got
some 20,402 votes.
Also proclaimed as elected municipal councilors
are Thelma Macapagal, Amy Rose Baylon, Randy Turla, Carol Foz, Cha Cha Sombillio and Godin
