CANDABA - Fourth district congressional candidate Mayor Jerry Pelayo vowed to minimize the effect if not eradicate the flooding
problem in the province through wise spending of government funds on flood control projects.
Pelayo
said that more than hundred millions of pesos has been used and wasted
in various rehabilitation efforts on some section of the Pampanga River
but still the problem even get worse.
He noted most of these projects
along the river had collapsed already leaving adjacent communities even entire municipalities heavily inundated.
"Kapag
nanalo na tayo, ipapatawag natin ang lahat ng concerned agencies kasama
ng lahat ng mayors para planuhing mabuti ang lahat ng gagawing proyekto
sa Pampanga River," the mayor added.
Pelayo
explained that part of the priority development funds will be allocated
for the purchase of heavy equipment to be stationed in every
municipalities for the construction works and maintenance of the river.
"Bibigyan
natin ng equipment ang bawat bayan. Aalisin na natin ang mga
contractors. Kanya kanyang munisipyo na ang gagawa sa proyekto sa ilog
by administration. At least pati iyong para sa constractor ay papasok na
sa construction cost natin," he stated.
The
promised to closely work with the provincial government through
Governor Lilia Pineda in addressing the looming needs on flood control
and mitigating projects in the 4th district.
