Provincial Board okays P1.7-B annual budget

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO - The  Committee on Appropriations  of the Provincial Board yesterday  disclosed that annual budget amounting to  P1.7 billion has been approved to finance developmental projects for 2013.

Senior Board Member Crisostomo Garbo, chair of the Committee of Appropriations said that the newly approved budget would attest to continuing commitment of Governor Lilia Pineda to improve the lives of the Kapampangans.

Garbo said the provincial government will continue working to strengthen the capabilities of the district hospitals in the province by constructing additional buildings and other health facilities to meet the growing needs of the people.

The senior board member stated that the province is now moving to the right direction as a result of the good relationship among the provincial elected officials both in the legislative and executive departments.

Garbo claimed that since Governor Pineda assumed the office of the provincial chief executive, the budget for each fiscal year is continously increasing.

Garbo, meanwhile, requested the local officials from various municipalities down to the barangay level  to submit their budget proposals this early in order to avoid delay on the deliberation due to upcoming midterm elections.

He explained that the provincial board has general supervision on local government units.
