CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – The Iglesia Ni Cristo’s (INC) Ecclesiastical District of Pampanga will be hosting the opening of the regional elimination of ‘Unity Games’ to held on Saturday at the Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center this city.
The INC Unity Games is the first multi-sport and multi-district event and largest athletic competition which started few years ago participated in by INC members from different provinces.
INC brethrens and players from Region III-A consisting of Zambales, Olongapo, Tarlac, and Pampanga are expected to fill the Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center’s oval and open field which program starts as early 7am on January 19.
The events include badminton, basketball, bowling, football, chess, table tennis, tennis, track and field, volleyball among others.
“Excited na po kami sa pagsisimula ng regional elimination ng Unity Games dahil magandang pagkakataon po ito para makapagsaya kaming magkakapatid mula sa ibang ibang probinsiya,” Boyeth Tullao, a volleyball player here said.
This multi-district and multi-sport event was the brainchild of the Church’s Executive Minister, Brother Eduardo V. Manalo.
It is aimed at bringing together members of the Church in a friendly athletic competition.
While sports can develop discipline, responsibility, teamwork, and perseverance, the Unity Games is also intended to foster the biblical teachings of brotherly love and unity among members of the Iglesia Ni Cristo.
‘Unity Games' is also being held other regions including Cordillera Autonomous Region, Region VI-A (Western Visayas), Region XIII (Caraga), Region VII (Cebu South, Cebu North, Bohol and Negros Oriental ),Region IV-B (Negros Del Norte, Negros Del Sur, Negros Occidental), Region IV-A (Calabarzon) among others.
