CANDABA - Liberal Party bet for municipal council here yesterday has vehemently denied involvement on the alleged kidnap for ransom activity as reported in various media entities.
Randy Turla, who is running for councilor under the administration party, branded the inclusion of his name in the said illegal activity as purely politically motivated and intended to ruin his popularity to deny him of the oppurtunity of getting a seat to the municipal council.
"Wala pong katotohanan iyong sinasabi nila laban sa akin na involve ako sa kidnapping at sa tamang panahon ay mapapatunayan ko na hindi po ako sangkot dito. Mayroon lamang pong gustong manira akin at aming pamilya," Turla told Sun Star Pampanga in an interview.
He said that in due time his name will be cleared from kidnap for ransom incident involving certain Emerson Magadia, a trader from Barangay Sapang Putik in San Ildefonso town, who was claimed to be kidnapped in February 14 of this year.
"Huwag po kayong maniwala na si Randy Turla ay nagtatago, sangkot sa kidnapping at pinaghahanap ng batas dahil kung totoo po iyon ay wala ako dito ngayon," he pointed out.
He was seen in the political caucus and campaign sorties of his local party in various barangays here.
Turla added that the other suspects who executed affidavit and issued statement against him had already withdrawn the same for being extracted under threat coupled with torture.
"Mayroon ng affidavit of recantation kung saan ay sinabi nilang wala talaga akong kinalaman at pilit lamang nilang idinawit ang aking pangalan sa insidente," he stated.
With this, he is optimistic that the case for kidnapping filed against him will be dismissed by the concerned prosecutor after the affividavit of recantation will be given due course.
