Guv asks police to ensure safe conduct of elections

FLORIDABLANCA - Incumbent Governor Lilia Pineda yesterday asked  chiefs of police assigned in various municipalities in the province to ensure the safe conduct of elections in their respective areas of responsibility.

Pineda said that she more concern about peace and order stability as it would totally compromise the reforms and development already introduced in Pampanga should the upcoming elections will be tainted with violence.

With this, the governor told the chiefs of police to remain vigilant at all times so that those individuals who are planning to disrupt the safe and peaceful holding of elections will prevented from doing so.

Pineda made special mention of the municipalities and areas wherein political atmosphere is getting more sensitive due to heated accusations during campaign by the participating candidates.

The governor also instructed the police assist all candidates regardless of their political affiliation.

She is holding the chief of police responsible for the security of the candidates who are campaigning within their respective area of jurisdiction.
