CITY OF SAN FERNANDO - The Provincial Social Welfare Development (PSWD) Officer Elizabeth Baybayan yesterday bared employment opportunities to social work graduates compared to the other fields.
Baybayan said that a social work graduate is in demand both in public and private institutions.
"They can work as a social worker, community organizer, community adviser, staff in government institutions, administrative assistant among others. Madami talaga pwedi pasukan dito," she told Sun Star Pampanga.
This came as the Baybayan encouraged the provincial government scholars to take up Bachelor of Science in Social Work for a guaranteed employment in the future.
"Gusto ni Nanay mag hire tayo ng social worker sa bawat barangay. Saan naman tayo hahanap ng ganito kadaming social workers?" she asked.
BS in Social Work program provides students with knowledge and skills in social work practice, social welfare policies, human welfare and basic competencies such as problem solving skills, analytical and critical thinking skills necessary to become successful professionals.
This program takes 4 years to complete.
