APALIT - The Department of Health-Center for Health and Development (DOH-CHD) has led yesterday the turn over ceremony of the Basic Emergency Obstetric Newborn Care (Bemonc) Facility for Rural Health Units 1 and 2 in this town.
Director Leonita Gorgolon said that this project is part of the 'Aquino Health Agenda Program' wherein the national government invested at least P7-billion for the establishment of birthing stations and other maternal facilities in the country.
Gorgolon noted that for the 4th district alone 14 birthing stations were already constructed in coordination with the concerned local government units and provincial government.
"No mother should die for giving life," she added.
As this developed, Mayor Jun Tetangco thanked the Department of Health for the newly constructed health facility which according to him would benefit the residents in the clustered barangays.
"Salamat po P8.2-million na Bemonc facility. Malaking bagay po ito para sa aming bayan," Tetangco stated.
Meanwhile, the CHD director told the local and provincial officials that anytime this month DOH Secretary Enrique Ona is expected to visit the province of Pampanga to inspect various birthing stations constructed under the health agenda of President Aquino.
"Dito po sa Apalit una kong dadalhin si Secretary kapag dumating siya dito sa Pampanga dahil ito ang pinaka magandang birthing stations." Gorgolon stressed.
