CITY OF SAN FERNANDO - "I do not ask you to vote for my son. Assess him first with his accomplishments as a mayor in Lubao."
This statement was made by Governor Lilia Pineda in a meeting with the local leaders in the fourth district recently held in Apalit town.
She said that it is still up to the people decide whether vice gubernatorial candidate Dennis "Delta" Pineda-son of the governor is qualified and fit to be elected as such.
"Hindi ko po sasabihin sa inyo na iboto ninyo ang aking anak pero tignan po ninyo ang kanyang nagawa sa Lubao bilang alkalde. Nasa inyo pa rin ang desisyon. Nasa inyo na ang kanyang magiging kapalaran," Governo Pineda stated.
Pineda shared that initially, she did not take seriously the idea of having her son as a running mate in the 2013 midterm elections as it would be subjected to the frying eyes of some who are also interested in the position.
However, the governor said that she has noticed the dedication of her son amids calamity that struct the province last year inundating almost all the towns in Pampanga and claiming the lives of several Kapampangans particularly those living in Sto. Tomas town.
Delta in his personal capacity and in coordination with the concerned local government units conducted a series of rescue operations bringing in his quick response team, rescue vehicles and other resources.
Delta is a three-term Lubao mayor and has served the Pampanga Mayors' League as president in the same period.
He has proven his leadership after gaining and maintaining the support of the mayors up to this time despite his being in the private sector.
