ARAYAT – The provincial government has intensified its campaign on pregnant women to lessen the incidents of miscarriage and ensure safety of the mother and child inside the womb and even during delivery.
This came as Governor Lilia Pineda started the implementation of a province-wide "Bustis Program" benefiting thousands of pregnant mommies.
Recently Pineda, along with the provincial health office employees and private doctor consultants conducted free consultation and check up on pregnant mothers at Dr. Emigdio C. Cruz Memorial Hospital located in this town.
The program beneficiaries were provided medicines, vitamins as well free vaccine depending on their needs based on the assessment made the attending doctors.
Governor Pineda through the Provincial Social Welfare Department Officer Elizabeth Baybayan also identified those who do not have PhilHealth insurance to be given sponsorship on premium payments by the capitol provided they qualify with the basic requirements set forth by the law.
Pineda also announced that those who gave birth last Friday in the said hospital will no longer pay hospital bills as the same will be shouldered by the provincial government.
Dr. Marcelo Jaochico, Provincial Health Office head meanwhile explained that “Buntis Program” is aimed at prioritizing the safety of the mother and child.
“This part of the health programs of the Pineda administration to protect mother and their child whose life is in danger especially when neglected and not given proper medical attention ,” said Dr. Jaochico
