PORAC – A district hospital named after the father of Senator Lito Lapid yesterday was inaugurated by the officials from the provincial and municipal government here.
The inauguration of the Jose S. Lapid District Hospital (JSLDH) was led by Governor Lilia Pineda and Mayor Condralito Dela Cruz along with other local elected officials.
Assisting the governor during the occasion were Board Members Fritzie Dizon-David and Salvador Dimson.
The construction of JSLDH was funded by the office of the Senator Lito Lapid using at least P25-M priority development fund with the help of the Department of Health giving additional budget of P10-M.
It was learned that the hospital has a total bed capacity of 25 but hospital officials are currently working to upgrade the same into 50-bed capacity.
Senator Lapid was represented by his son Meynard, extended gratitude to the provincial government and local council here for approving the resolutions naming the former Porac District Hospital into Jose S. Lapid District Hospital despite earlier opposition.
“Nagpapasalamat po ang pamilya Lapid dahil ipanangalan ninyo sa amin ang hospital na ito,” Meynard said.
Governor Pineda for her part said that the provincial government will be providing the necessary equipment, instruments and other fixtures to provide quality health services to the people.
She likewise urged Mayor Dela Cruz through the municipal council to allocate P1-million from the annual budget of the municipality in order to sustain the operation of the said hospital.
