CITY
OF SAN FERNANDO - The provincial government is bent on promoting local
products distinct in every municipalities in the province to promote its
maximum economic potential.
Governor
Lilia Pineda said that there is more to achieve in Pampanga as it is
rich in variety of resources from vegetables, eggs, fish, ducks,
chicken, meat, rice among others.
However, she noted with the current set up only those non Kapampangan traders are benefiting from the province.
"Ang
industriya palang isda sa atin malaki na. Araw araw tone-toneladang
tilapia dinadala sa ibat ibang palengke hindi lang dito sa Pampanga
maging sa mga karatig probinsiya natin. Ang problema lang hindi
kapampangan ang nakikinabang dahil iba ang nag-aangkat nito," Pineda
added.
Pineda
explained that Kapampangan fishpond operators and small cage owners are
without choice because big time buyers are monopolizing the price at
the disadvantage of the former.
"Kawawa iyong ating mga fishermen dahil ang murang nilang binibili ang kanilang mga isda eh ang mahal
na ng bili nila ng feeds. Kaya ang kumikita ang mga kapitalista lamang," the governor stressed.
As
this developed, Pineda is planning to strengthen the capability of the
local businessmen including other enterprising Kapampangan through the
provision of additional capital for them sustain the competition.
"Mag
organize kayo ng kooperatiba. Tayo na mismo ang bibili ng isda dito sa
Pampanga at magde-deliver sa ibat ibang lugar," she stated.
The governor likewise wanted to establish trading center and processing plant for the local products.
