Capitol to hire barangay social workers

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – Governor Lilia Pineda the other day disclosed that she is planning to employ social workers in all barangays  in the province.

Pineda said barangay social workers (BSW) will focus on the implementation of the socials development programs and projects by the provincial government and various local government units.

This is also in support with the  mandate Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) to uplift the standard of living of the residents through community oriented activities.

As this developed, the governor is bent on hiring 505 barangay social workers  this year to serve as catalysts of change in their respective communities.

BSW would likewise be assigned to implement the medical social services of the provincial government down to the level of the poor rural villages in the province.

Aside from this, they will be also tasked to implement effectively the provincial children’s welfare code and help the out-of-school youths in their education and trainings.

“It is important that the youth would be given enough guidance in the community not only within their family in order to give them a brighter outlook in life and in the society,” Pined stressed.
 
As of now, the provincial government is utilizing the volunteerism of the barangay health workers, bantay bayan, nurses deployed in the different municipalities.

The nurses and BHWs are tasked to locate Kapampangans who are suffering from different illnesses such tuberculosis, emphysema, cyst, skin diseases, among others.
