Farmers get agri support from DA, capitol


SAN LUIS - Organized farmers' groups here and in Lubao town lauded the Department of Agriculture (PA)  and the provincial government for continuously providing farm machineries.

This according to the farmers is a big help on the agricultural sector to achieve its aim to increase their production for the growing demand rice and corn and other related farm produce.

Recently, Governor Lilia Pineda together with DA representatives spearheaded the distribution of five units of combined harvesters, rice cutters harvester and 4-wheel rice reaper  to the members of San Luis Irrigators Association and Lambak Multi-purpose Cooperatives. 

DA subsidized 85 percent of the cost of machineries while the 15 percent which supposed to be the share of the target beneficiaries was shouldered by the provincial government.

This project is  part of the Agriculture Enhancement program of the provincial government with the full support of the agri department.

“With the equipment provided by Gov. Pineda and DA we will be able to double our harvest,” Lemencio Banal,  a farmer from Lubao town said.

Banal noted that every farmer member of the organization is entitled to use the manchineries  as the same will be done per schedule basis. 

The governor was joined by 2nd District Board Member Olga Frances “Fritzie” David and 3rd District Board Member Trina Dizon, Engr. Lulu Alingcastre and Maria David of the agriculture office during the distribution held in Lubao town.
