CANDABA – A group of the foreign national yesterday had paid respect to a surviving local Korean War veteran here.

Park Sun Man, leader of the Korean visitors made a surprised visit in the house of  Victoriano Manalastas at Purok 6 Barangay Pansinao.

The said Korean War veteran was turning 85 this March 6.

Park in an exclusive interview told Sun Star Pampanga that Manalastas was like a real father to him.

He added that he was lucky  to have Manalastas still alive because his biological father Park Hyung Won, who is also a Korean War veteran is no longer with them.

“He is my father in the Philippines. We come here to show our deep concern on him. We would like to make him happy this New Year,” Park stated.

Manalastas was part of the Battalion Combat Teams of the Philippine Army who fought during the Korean War which happened in 1950 to 1953.

It was a military conflict between the Republic of Korea and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, with military material aid from the Soviet Union.

Joining Park in the visit was the A.cian group, a 5-member South Korean rookie boy group who entertained not only the family of Manalastas but all other residents living in the nearby place.

The group debuted last August 2012 under ISS Entertainment with their song “Stuck”.

The group is composed of Seul Gi, Chan Hee, Crooge, See Hee and Sang Hyeon.
