MASANTOL
- The newly elected local chief excutive in this town is eyeing for the
establishment of a community college in the locality.
Mayor-elect Dan Guintu in a previous interview told Sun Star Pampanga that he wanted to bring education closer to the people of Masantol. This according to him will provide opportunity for the families to send at least one child to college education.
"Sisikapin natin na ma-establish natin ang Masantol college para hindi na kailangan pang pumunta sa ibang lugar ang ating mga estudyante. Malaki ang matitipid nila sa pamasahe at titiyakin natin na mababa ding ang kanilang babayaran," he said.
Guintu explained that development and progress will take place when youth in Masantol will be able to get an affordable education.
Aside from this, the new mayor also promised to subsidize expenses by the students in all public elementary and high schools in town.
He believed that primary and secondary education is mandatory to all students and should be given to student free of charge.
"Gagawin nating libre ang pag aaral ng high school and elementary sa buong bayan ng Masantol. Kung mayroon mang dapat pang bayaran ay ang local government unit na ang sasagot nito," Guinto stated.
