STO. TOMAS – Mayor Joselito
Naguit and running mate Mark Louie Arceo had set a record in the town’s
politics as the first ever three termed mayor and youngest vice mayor in the
province respectively.
This came Commission on Elections
yesterday formally proclaimed Naguit as legally elected mayor and Arceo as vice
mayor in a simple ceremony led by the Municipal
Election Officer Imelda Manalastas.
“Siyempre masaya ako dahil ako ang
kauna unahang 3 termed mayor sa bayan ng Sto. Tomas at nakita naman ng ating
mga kababayan ang maganda nating ginawa para sa kanilang kapakanan,” he said.
Naguit obtained some 12,880 votes
while his political rival Romeo Ronquillo garnered 6,274 only.
His running mate Arceo vested the
incumbent Vice Mayor Gloria Ronquillo with 11,396 votes compared to 6,841 of
the latter.
The mayor added with the
overwhelming support manifested by the people in Sto. Tomas in the recently
concluded elections, he would further intensify the delivery of basic services
to the communities.
“Maaalis na niyan ang impression
sa mga tao na pera pera lang ang laban. Magagawa na natin ang mga proyektong
tutulong sa pag unlad ng ating bayan,” he stated.
Naguit told Sun Star Pampanga in
an interview that he is also happy with the election of Arceo as vice mayor as
their good relationship will speed up implementation of program for the general
welfare of the people.
“Masaya ako dahil nanalo ang
aking vice mayor. Kung kasangga natin siya ay lalung gaganda ang plano natin sa
Sto. Tomas,” he said.
