CANDABA - The political situation here is slowly going back to normal after the new set of elected officials were
proclaimed by the Commission on Elections the other.
There
is no more political talks from different parties in the localities who
openly admitted their support to the contending parties and candidates.
Some residents who acted as campaign managers, coordinators and leaders and had regularly spent time in the street during
the 45 days campaign period are now settled back to their houses to attend with the needs of their respective families.
There
is no more campaign propaganda. In fact, concerned residents are
starting to remove streamers and campaign posters installed in their
private properties with the exception of the show boats by the winning
candidates roaming around the municipality thanking the voters for their
support.
The
newly elected municipal officials will be sworn into office before the
end of next month which at the same time signify the beginning of their
fresh term.
As
this developed, the residents are urging Mayor Rene Maglangue to spend
his 100 days in office in uniting the town considering it was
substantially divided during the campaign and election period.
A resident here said Maglanque is now the mayor of the entire town and not only of those who supported him.
"Kailagan
simulan ng tama ni Mayor Rene ang panunungkulan sa pamamagitan ng
pantay pantay na pagtingin sa lahat ng residente bumoto man sa kanya o
hindi dahil ito ang susi ng pag asenso ng ating bayan," a resident here
stated.
