INC to launch "Kabayan Ko, Kapatid Ko"; 40,000 non-INC expected to benefit

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO - The Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) in the Ecclesiastical District of Pampanga will  be launching "Kabayan Ko, Kapatid Ko" project offering free medical, dental and relief services to Kampangans to be held  at the Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center this city Tuesday.

According to the INC members, the Church administration under the leadership of Brother Erano V. Manalo is targeting a minimum of 40,000 non INC member-beneficiaries for the province of Pampanga alone based on the lists earlier  submitted by the brethren.

'Kabayan Ko, Kapatid Ko' was in response to the needs of those living in extreme poverty, whether or not they are INC members.

"We were doing this in accordance with the biblical teachings to love and care for others," a Church Minister who asked not to named told Sun Star Pampanga.

This activity will be led by Pampanga District Minister Manuel Soriano Jr. along with two other deputies, ministers assigned in various locales in the province, INC health workers who acted upon the instruction of the Church Administration.

'Kabayan Ko, Kapatid Ko' was first  launched a day after the 50th death anniversary of INC founder Felix Ysagun Manalo, whom Iglesia members revere as God’s Last Messenger.

Meanwhile, it was learned that INC's largest international aid for humanity also known as “Lingap sa Mamamayan” bagged global "most" acclamation by the Guinness World Book of Records held in Parola Compound, Tondo, Manila on July 7 last year.

Tarika Vara, the official adjudicator for Guinness World Records together with SGV partner verified and confirmed that all the significant data and information for the three categories were attained:

Tarika Vara, the official adjudicator for Guinness World Records: “The most people involved in a dental health check,” 4,128  people for this dental mission and surpassed India’s 3,377;  “The most blood pressure readings taken in 8 hours” with 8,026 patients in this medical check-ups exceeded Kuwait Heart  Foundation's 7,203; “The most blood glucose level tests in 8 hours” with 5,217 from this event   outdone Novo Nordisk Education Foundation from India of 3,573.

"The INC and the FYM Foundation have long been responding to the needs of those victimized by disasters, both natural and manmade. This time, we have expanded these efforts as we want our poor countrymen to feel that they are not alone, that there is someone aware of their needs. They are our brothers, too,” Bro. Glicerio Santos, general auditor of the Iglesia Ni Cristo said in a previous report.
