“Nakausap na natin yung mga negosyante at pumayag sila na magtaas tayo ng rate dahil nakita naman nila ang mga ginagawa natin sa probinsiya,” he added.
Garbo claimed that for so long the rate on RPT has not been changed.
“Yung collection natin sa kasalukuyan ay umaabot lamang sa P300 million per year,” he pointed out.
However, with the continuous investment of the province in major infrastructures like roads, bridges and the like had improved the conduct of local businesses which even attracted more the investors.
As this developed, he stated that businessmen this time are very supportive of the initiative to increase rate on RPT
The local legislator noted that additional amount to be collected will be entirely used to further enhance facilities and infrastructures.
Earlier, the provincial government implemented an Integrated Taxation Management System (iTax) in Minalin town.
Provincial Assessor Romeo Dizon said the iTax system aims to transform the province’s current tax collection from a lengthy manual process to an efficient and transparent automated system.
The new system is claimed to benefit the Kapampangan tax payers.
