Top cop bares 7,500 unlicensed fire arms in Pampanga

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – The police authorities recently revealed that there were about 7,500 unlicensed fire arms in the province.

Senior Superintendent R’win Pagkalinawan, police provincial director in a meeting with the local officials said as per record obtained by their office, the gun owners of the fire arms in questioned failed to secure permits and other documents pertaining to possession and carrying of the same to public places.

Pagkalinawan added that out of  the 7,500 gun owners, they already to talk to some 1,000 individuals advising them to secure necessary permits in order to avoid inconveniences.

He claimed that they are still bent on communicating to other gun owners for the matter.

The police director further stated that out of the 1,000 gun owners they talked with only 200 of them complied with the requirement.

This initiative is aimed at ensuring that unlicensed  fire arms will not be used by some groups who wanted to disrupt the conduct of peaceful and honest elections in the province this coming midterm elections.

It is also intended to prevent armed groups and individual gun owners from engaging into political harassment,

Pagkalinawan in an earlier interview told Sun Star Pampanga they have received instruction from the higher headquarter of the Philippine National Police (PNP) to tract all gun owners  whose permits and licenses were not renewed for the past three years.
