CLARK FREEPORT – The Provincial Government through Provincial Action Center for OFW
Concerns (PACOC) hosted a livelihood
forum today for the spouses of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs
PACOC Head Ma. Eliza Munoz said that the
activity will be held in coordination with the national government for a wider scope of livelihood programs for the
OFW families.
This is aimed at
providing the OFW families with an additional knowledge and information
involving establishment of small business as an alternative source of income
while their family members are still working abroad.
The livelihood
forum is one of the highlights of the celebration of 441st founding
anniversary of the province.
Munoz, in a
gathering held at the Clark Freeport urged village officials to inform their
concerned constituents to benefit on the occasion.
“Nakikisuyo po kami sa inyo sakaling mayroon kayong nasasakupan na ngayon ay OFW at nagkakaroon sila ng problema sa kanilang trabaho ay makipag ugnayan po kayo sa amin para matulungan natin sila,” she told the barangay officials.
The province has more than 115,000 OFWs working in different parts of the world. The OFWs’ remittance has reached the amount of P16.6-B.
