Scholarship for poor but deserving students
The provincial government has also given thousands of poor but deserving students with financial assistance with a total amount of almost P14-million for their school tuition fees and allowances.
The educational assistance is in line with the provincial government’s Educational Fund Assistance Program (EFAP) which has benefited thousands of needy students since its implementation a couple of years back.
Governor Lilia G. Pineda, in her desire to provide necessary assistance to students who wish to pursue their college education but do not have the financial capability to do so, continued the EFAP program including the memoranda of agreement entered into with the Pampanga Agricultural College (PAC) in Magalang and the VisualCom, a computer school in the City of San Fernando.
Each of the scholars received P5,000 per semester or a total of P10,000 for one school year except for the VisualCom beneficiaries who received P5,000 educational assistance for one semester only.
The provincial board has also passed an ordinance providing scholarship for the students who graduated valedictorian, salutatorian and 1st honourable mention.
