CITY OF SAN FERNANDO --- Amidst the celebration of the 441st founding anniversary of the province, Governor Lilia Pineda has expressed sympathy to the victims of tropical storm “Pablo.”
Pineda upon learning the tragedy immediately called the Pampanga Mayors to extend assistance to the people in Mindanao particularly those in Davao Region.
She asked the mayors through the Pampanga Mayors’ League (PML) President Jerry Pelayo to mobilize resources to provide all possible assistance the families of the casualties.

Recent reports have it that the death toll due to flash floods and mudslides incidents at the height of tropical storm “Pablo” already reached 418.
With this, the local chief executives in various municipalities acting upon the instruction of Governor Pineda vowed to provide at least 500 coffins to decent burial to casualties.
The expenses on the purchase and shipping of the coffins will be paid by the provincial government.
Pelayo said they are now currently coordinating with the concerned government agencies in-charged in the provision of basic needs of the victims as well as those responsible in the on-going search and rescue operations.
The coffins were bought by the provincial government to the local manufacturers in Sto. Tomas town to begin the shipment of the same to Davao.
Typhoon Pablo is the 16th storm to enter the Philippine area of responsibility.
