CANDABA – Vice President Jejomar “Jojo” Binay has provided at least P11.9-million for the upgrading of Candaba-San Miguel road Barangay Paralaya section.
The project was requested by Mayor Jerry Pelayo to the office of the vice president as part of the continuing effort to provide convenience on the part of the residents living in Kapampangan region.
Pelayo has been continuously working and coordinating with the concerned government agencies and officials to finish the construction of the remaining sections of the road.
He explained that Candaba-San Miguel road is vital in the development of this town in general as this could lead to free flow of economic activities involving agricultural produced in the communities from the Kapampangan region.
Thelma Macapagal, Barangay Paralaya chief disclosed that construction works had already started under the supervision of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).
It can be noted that the provincial government, earlier, also funded the construction of another 600 meters of Candaba-San Miguel road Barangay Salapungan section.
This came as a group of farmers and concerned residents asked the municipal government to request Governor Lilia Pineda to help in the construction of the un-finish construction works.
