Maglanque: " I resigned at DOTC in 2004"

CANDABA - The local chief executive of this town yesterday clarified that since January 5, 2004, he is no longer connected with the Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC).

Mayor Rene Maglanque said that he tendered his letter of resignation in preparation to the 2004 local elections wherein he is then running for congressman. 

This statement was made is response to the story published in newspaper dragging the mayor's name saying that the template for racket at DOTC in '05. 

"I am no longer privy to any dealing or transaction that transpire within the department from the date I am  resigned," Maglanque pointed out. 

The mayor noted that it is highly irregular and it would be unfair to hold him accountable for transactions happened beyond his term of office as DOTC assistant secretary. 

"Luy's claim was confirmed in a 2005 Commission on Audit (COA) report on the DOTC. The COA uncovered a P40.234-million computer supply scam of which Jo-Chris accounted for more than half of the deals," Maglanque cited a  portion of the story published in the newspaper.  

"Anong kinalaman natin dito eh wala na tayo sa department sa panahong ito," he ended.
