CANDABA - The embattled local chief executive of this town yesterday stated he is optimistic that after observing legal processes involving the issue on Malampaya fund, his name will be cleared as the truth comes out.
Mayor Rene Maglanque denies involvement in the alleged misuse of at least P900 million Malampaya fund.
He also welcomed the investigation saying that his conscience is clear and he has no hand in any transaction pertaining to the use of Malampaya fund.
However, he insisted that the complaint filed against him is without basis.
The mayor likewise stated that he is ready to face the allegations. In fact, he has already met with his lawyers who are now tasked to counter the latter in order to prove his innocence.
Meanwhile, Maglanque assured the Candabenios that the controversy will not affect the delivery of the basic services and programs by the municipal government.
