This came as the provincial government through its Management Information System Office (MIS) and Provincial Assessor’s Office (PAO) launched the pilot test of Integrated Taxation Management System (iTax).

Yabut explained the new system will help shorten the procedure as all information needed for the payment of fees and taxes involving real properties will be taken automatically.

“This new system will greatly reduce the time spent in the tax paying process and it only shows that the governor values the time of each tax payer,” he told media men in a previous interview.

Romeo Dizon, provincial assessor stated that with iTax system, there will be efficient and transparent collection of real property taxes (RPT) which may eventually lead to increase of earnings on the part of the concerned local government units and the province in general.

This town was  identified for the pilot test  because of its unique geographical characteristic as it covers a smaller land area thus leaving less room for errors and adjustments for the new system.

There is also updated information in terms of real properties which were already encoded in the computer following the recently concluded tax mapping operations.

With this, Mayor Arturo Naguit  thanked  Governor Lilia Pineda for testing the new tax system in his municipality which according to him could help improve the tax collections.
