According to Felipe Dela Cruz, a resident from Barangay Lanang, a group of unidentified perpetrators loaded in a van and tricycle with green “Kolong Kolong” was noticed rooming around in the locality before the incident involving the goats started to happen.

“Marami ng kambing ang nawawala. Yung dating kapitan ng Barangay Mandasig apat na, ako naman isa. Yung kabarangay ko dalawa at mayroon pang sumunod na nawala,” Dela Cruz told Sun Star Pampanga in an interview.

He believed that the responsible group is engaged in the business selling of goats or probably connected to a ‘Kambingan’ restaurant.

“Ang isang kambing na nasa hustong sukat ay nagkakahalaga ng dalawang libo at limang daang piso,” another goat breeder pointed out.

Sun Star Pampanga has brought the problem to the attention of the local police who in turn promised to dispatch a patrol group who will monitor the area regularly.

Superintendent Henry Flores, town’s chief of police, in a phone interview, said that he will look into this matter seriously.

“Ginamit na namin yung sasakyan namin para makahuli kami pero wala kaming nakita. Pero mamaya babalikan namin ulit ang lugar,” Flores told Sun Star Pampanga.

He likewise encouraged the victims to report the same to the police station in order to get more information on the “modus operandi” and identities of the perpetrators.
