CITY
OF SAN FERNANDO – Some 974 flood-affected Kampangans had benefited in
the recent distribution of Philippine Health Insurance Corporation
(PhilHealth) cards by the provincial government.
Governor Lilia Pineda made this effort to secure the medical
needs of the flood-stricken residents while they are still recovering
from losses and damages as a result of the calamity.
She
also wanted to further increase the number of Kampangans enrolled in
the PhilHealth program as part of her continuing integrated medical
assistance to indigent individuals particularly those living in low
lying communities in the coastal municipalities.
Pineda said the distribution of PhilHealth cards “will benefit first the poorest of the poor.”
She added that they will complete the distribution in due time.
The
governor also assured the PhilHealth members that if confined to any
district hospital in Pampanga, they need pay for their medical bills as
the “no balance billing” policy is still in effect.
Pineda
meanwhile stated that anybody who would get sick as a result of the
unprecedented flooding including but not limited to leptospirosis and
dengue cases, they are also free of charge in any
hospital run by the provincial government.
