- A resident from Barangay Bambang here landed in jail after he was
caught stealing roosters early in the morning yesterday.
The police identified the suspect as Alex Hernandez who had been linked to several criminal activities in the past.
Hernandez now faces another theft charges before the office of the Provincial Prosecutor.
Police Officer 2 Rommel Delos Santos told Sun Star Pampanga that this is not the first time the suspect was involved in the same incident.
He said that in 2009, Hernandez was also involved in theft of several sacks of palay in Barangay Buas wherein he was also charged and suffered to serve sentence under probation.
According Christopher Sanchez, victim and resident of Barangay Buas, at about 5:00 am, he heard unnecessary noise.
He peep in his window and noticed a man carrying a sack containing unknown object.
The suspect immediately jumped over the fence wherein he tried to start his motorcycle for his escape but it did not work.
Sanchez together with Alberto Gregorio, bantay bayan present in the area during that time chased the suspect .
While in the process of escape, the suspect thrown stolen properties and left his motorcycle.
The victim was able to recover the sack containing two roosters valued at P12,000.
Initial investigation disclosed that after few minutes, the suspect returned to the area hoping to recover his motorcycle which later on resulted to his immediate arrest.
