CANDABA
- The municipal government here had sought the assistance of the
Department of Social Development (DSWD) for the commitment of
minors-in-conflict of the laws who were arrested due to involvement in a
series of stealing incidents.
Mayor Rene Maglanque said that the minors will be turned over into the custody of an institution in Magalang under
the supervision of the DSWD.
This
according to him would best serve the interest of the erring minors who
may eventually be reformed for possible reintegration in the community.
"Nakausap
na natin si Director Adelina Apostol. Pinapagawan niya ng social case
study ang mga bata para maibigay na natin sa kanila ang pangangalaga,"
he stated.
It
can be recalled that several residents and traders in the public market
here had been complaining about the stealing incidents during night
time reportedly being perpetrated by these
minors.
With
this, the mayor ordered local authorities to further increase
intelligence gathering initiative and police visibility in public areas
to prevent the culprits from continuously doing illegal activities.
The campaign resulted to the arrest of several individuals including two minors.
"Yung
nahuli nating nasa hustong gulang ay kakasuhan natin at iyung minor de
edad ay ibibigay natin sila sa pangangalaga ng DSWD," Maglanque
stated.
