ANA - More than 800 high school students from Sta. Ana National High
School yesterday had benefited in the adolescent vaccination program by
the Department of Health (DOH) .
Rolando Zapata, school principal said that students availed the program to free themselves from common vaccine-preventable diseases
The
school-based adolescent Immunization is a nationwide program of the
DOH that adopts the theme, “Malusog na Kabataan, Kabalikat at Pag-asa
para sa Kaunlaran: Magpapabakuna”

DOH
representatives with the help of the school officials conducted MMR
(Measles, Mumps and Rubella) and Td (Tetanus Diphtheria) vaccination to
grade 7 (first year).
These diseases were previously identified by the DOH-National Epidemiology Center as commonly observed to adolescents.
According to the students, they sought first the approval of their respective parents before they decided to avail the program.
"Swerte
po kami dahil isa ang school namin sa napili sa programang ito ng
pamahalaan. Nakatipid na kami, sigurado pa ang aming kalusugan," one of
the students here stated.
