CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – The family members of an Overseas Filipino Worker who was arrested in Malaysia lauded the Provincial Action Center for OFWs Concerns (PACOC) for the providing assistance.

Albert Yabut was apprehended by Malaysian authorities more than fifteen days ago for overstaying and working there without visa.

As this developed, Nestor, a resident of Barangay Mandasig, Candaba town, father of the OFW in distress  sought the assistance of Mayor Rene Maglanque to possibly help request in the speedy deportation of the younger Yabut.

Maglanque referred them to PACOC office for proper coordination with the Philippine embassy in Malaysia.

PACOC  conducted the initial questioning with the relatives of Albert involving the latter’s personal circumstances including his mode of entry in Malaysia, employment record and his current condition under the custody of the Malaysian authority.

It was learned that Albert is an undocumented OFW who had been working in Malaysia for more than four years.

He was arrested because of an OFW who provided authorities of information about his whereabout.

“Magpasalamat kami pu kekayu. Ala na kaming balu pang lapitan aliwa na makasaup kekami. Sana asaupan yu kami king pamagbalik ng  Albert,” Nestor told the PACOC employee.

With this, Pacoc said that they would immediately coordinate with the embassy in Malaysia to provide the OFW all  necessary assistance while the deportation case is still ongoing.
