CANDABA – Mayor Rene
Maglanque recently welcomed the delegation of the Provincial Action Center for
OFW Concerns (Pacoc) and Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) as they
conducted values orientation and leadership seminar for Kapampangan OFWs here.
He said he was happy to
note that the provincial government through Governor Lilia Pineda is looking
into the needs and welfare of the Kapampangan overseas Filipino workers.
Maria Eliza Rey
Yap-Munoz, PACOC chief in an interview said that the training seminar was in
coordination with the Provincial Employment Services Office (PESO), Provincial
Management and Training Center and Provincial Cooperative and Entrepreneurial
Development Office (PCEDO).
“Ang objective natin ay
una i-organize ang ating mga OFWs upang matulungan natin sila sa mga programa
ng national government pati na ng provincial government,” Munoz stated.
The Pacoc chief
explained that they have been doing this initiative to help the Kapampangan
OFWs organize themselves to secure comprehensive benefits on various government
programs designed to uplift their standard of living.
“Sa Candaba twice na
kaming nagpunta rito. Una yung orientation natin sa mga OFWs at ngayon nga ay
seminar sa kanila,” Munoz said.
She also noted that the
same activity was already hosted to some 17 municipalities in the province.
“Yung Angeles nga ay naka
schedule din tayong pumunta kasi gusto din nilang sumama sa atin,” she ended.
