CITY
OF SAN FERNANDO - Vice Governor Dennis "Delta" Pineda the other day
asked the municipal mayors
including barangay officials to maximize first their respective
calamity funds before seeking help from the provincial government.
Delta
said that providing assistance to in distress Kapampangan particularly
during calamities is a primary obligation of the concerned municipal
government including the barangay.
"Kailangan ay
i maximize muna pondo para sa kalamidad tsaka tutulong ang kapitolyo sa inyo," he stated.
The
vice governor meanwhile assured them that the provincial government is
ready to provide support in terms of rescue operation, relief goods when
needed.
Delta also advised the mayors who had savings in their calamity funds from
the previous years to invest on life saving device and rescue equipments.
He noted that these would be of great help during emergency cases.
"Nasubukan
na naman yan ni Mayor Jun Tetangco noong nakaraang taon. Malaking bagay
para sa ating mga kababayan sa panahon ng kalamidad," the younger
Pineda stressed.
Meanwhile,
4th district Board Member Nestor Tolentino suggested to identify
possible sites for evacuation centers in every municipalities.
"Pwedi
na nating tignan yung higher grounds sa bawat lugar para mayroong
mapuntahan ang ating mga kababayan kapag sobrang lumalaki na ang tubig,?
he asked.
This
came as the Department of Education previously declared that public
schools could not longer be used as evacuation centers except in
extreme cases of emergency.
