CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – The provincial chief executive recently instructed the engineers to carefully study program of works submitted by the local government units including those requested by the barangay officials to avoid double funding.
Governor Lilia Pineda wanted to spend the capitol resources to priority projects which would benefit the general interest of Kapampangan
“Gov. Pineda stressed that budget should be allocated for essential projects needed in the barangay or municipality. All requests from barangay should be certified by the local government units,” Engr. Noli Pangan, assistant provincial engineer said.
Pangan claimed that they are currently working with infrastructure projects previously approved but delayed due to ban implemented by the Commission on Elections (Comelec) relative to the recently concluded 2013 elections.
As this developed, he stated that more than P140-M worth of infrastructure projects are being implemented.
PEO records show that some P34, 571, 000 is allocated for the construction of school building and classrooms; P13, 375, 000 for covered courts; P10-million for barangay halls; P12, 460, 000 for the repair and concreting of roads and bridges; Escolastica Romero District Hospital received P26.5 million for its rehabilitation and improvement and another P44 million is allocated for other buildings and infrastructures.
