ARAYAT – This town Mayor Emmanuel “Bon” Alejandrino has recently sought the help of the provincial government on the plan to develop the full potential of the Arayat National Park as main tourists destination in Central Luzon.
Alejandrino in an official visit with Governor Lilia Pineda the other day bared that he is eyeing a public-private partnership in order to bring back the old glory of the park.
The mayor believed that it is not too late to save and develop the same into an eco-tourism destination in the province.
“The potential of the Mt. Arayat National Park to be a tourist attraction in the region is very big. It has its own waterfalls. There are old trees and wild life here that will draw the interest of nature lovers,” he said.
As this developed, he said he would request the Department of Environment and Natural Resources Office involving their intention to get back the authority to manage and maintain the national park
However, initially, the local government unit under the leadership of Alejandrino vowed to implement environmental laws providing protection to nature.
Alejandrino also wanted to prohibit the unauthorized cutting of trees and other illegal activities in the mountain.
