CANDABA
- The local chief executive here yesterday
has called to convene the municipal disaster risks reduction and
management council (MDRRMC) to come up with a solid plan in preparation
with the upcoming flooding this rainy season.
Mayor
Rene Maglanque said that the welfare and safety of the Candabenios is
his primary concern and should at all times be given utmost
consideration.
"Gusto nating matiyak ang kaligtasan ng ating mga kababayan lalu na sa panahon ng kalamidad," he added.
Maglanque
in a recent meeting with the barangay captains urged them to
temporarily set aside their political biases and work together for the
benefit of the people.
He even encouraged the
barangay leaders to cooperate with the MDRRMC in the formulation of a
comprehensive plan tailored for emergency cases.
"Mag
organize din kayo ng rescue team sa inyo inyong mga barangay para
mabilis ang pagtugon natin sa pangangailangan ng ating mga kababayan.
Kailangan lang mayroon tayong coordination para magkatulungan tayo," the
mayor stated.
Pulong
Plazan Barangay Captain Llord Lazaro meanwhile told Sun Star Pampanga
that he has an existing rescue team who already undergo training on
water and search rescue operation including basic on life support.
"Kami
sa aming barangay ay organisado na ang rescue team. Trained ang ating
mga tao sakaling magkaroon ng emergency," Lazaro noted.
