Officials agree on "social fund' for indigent

CANDABA - Local elected officials here recently agreed to allocate some P2-M as social fund for the indigent Candabenios who cannot afford to pay in full their hospital obligations.

Mayor Rene Maglanque said that he wanted to bring the services of the municipality closer to the people.

Maglanque said that for next year's budget deliberation, he would recommend to the Sangguniang Bayan to allocate the said amount to ensure the success of its implementation.

He explained that under his proposal, the municipality would enter into memorandum of agreement with the identified government hospitals to discount on the financial obligation of any Kabalen who would secure the health services of the latter.

This will be charged  against  the account set to be opened by the municipality in the hospital.

Vice Mayor Normita "Babes" Evangelista assured the mayor that the Sangguniang Bayan would support the establishment of social fund.
