ARAYAT - The local chief executive here had declared war against drug pushers and gamblers believed to be operating in
town.
Mayor
Emmanuel "Bon" Alejandrino said that the campaign on illegal drugs was
heightened to protect the residents from the adverse of the same.
"We
mean business here. Identified na natin sila. Mayroon na tayong
kinausap, yung ayaw magbago ay ipapahuli natin . Yung isa pa nga inaanak
kupa, hindi natin ito
kukunsintihin," he added.
Alejandrino
stressed that he has given himself deadline up to October 30 to clean
the entire town with the illegal substance being traded by the drug
pushers.
The mayor explained that the problem on peace and order will not be solved if illegal drugs trade remain on
streets.
This has been pointed as one of the root causes of all crimes perpetrated in Arayat.
"Kailangan linisin natin ang bayan. Walang lugar dito ang mga drug pushers," he stated.
Alejandrino
vowed to implement the full force of the law for anyone who would
disregard his call to obey the law on illegal drugs.
"Mahigpit nating ipapatupad ang batas dito. Kakasuhan ang simunan na mahuhuli nating nagbebenta ng illegal na droga," he noted.
Aside
from this, Alejandrino denied the renewal of the mayor's permit of
Arayat Cockpit Arena to discourage his constituents from engaging into
gambling.
He also instructed the chief of police to track down possible gambling sites which led to the confiscation of video careras.
"Gusto natin makilala tayo bilang business friendly na bayan at hindi sa gambling," the mayor ended.
