SAN SIMON - The Department of
Health-Center for Health and Development (DOH-CHD) Region III yesterday led the inauguration of the
birthing station in Barangay San Jose here.
Director Leonita Gorgolon together with Governor Lilia Pineda and other
local elected officials spearheaded the activity.
She said that the continuing construction of birthing stations in the
province of Pampanga is part of the President Benigno Aquino's health agenda program.
Gorgolon earlier noted that the national government invested at least P7-billion for the
establishment of birthing stations and other maternal facilities in the
country.
Reports have that for the fourth district alone, more than 14 birthing
stations were already constructed in cooperation with the provincial
government.
The lady director assured Governor Pineda that the Department of Health
would continue to support the latter's health program.
With this, Pineda thanked Gorgolon and the health department for the newly
constructed facility which according to
her would benefit the residents in the clustered barangays.
