CITY
OF SAN FERNANDO - The Provincial Disaster Risks Reduction and
Management Council (PDRRMC) yesterday ordered its counterpart in the
municipal level reactivate disaster response teams.
Angelina Blanco, PDRRMC chief said that the initiative is aimed at providing the immediate needs of the people in all localities particularly during extreme cases of emergency.
He believed that with the activation of the Municipal Disaster Risks Reduction and Management Council down to the barangay level would make the concerned local government units effective in responding to any eventuality shoud Typhoon Labuyo would bring damages.
As this developed, Candaba town Mayor Rene Maglangue alerted all barangays situated along the Pampanga River.
In fact, he called for an emergency meeting with the eleven barangay captains in the town proper to be prepared for the reported volume of water to come from the neighboring provinces in the upstream.
Maglanque stated that the municipality of Candaba is now ready for calamity.
"Handa na po kami. Yung mga dump trucks natin andyan na kung sakaling kailanganin, mayroon na tayong nakahandang relief goods, gamot at handa na rin ang ating temporary evacuation center.
Based on the recent report of Pampanga River Flood Forcasting and Warning Center, there is a slow rise of water to reach the six meter alarm level in Arayat Station of Pampanga River.
The municipalities adjacent to the river are advised to take precautionary measure as flooding is possible anytime.
